How to wire the FPC antenna correctly Oct 09, 2017
For FPC antennas, Many of us have no concrete idea,So what is a antenna? The antenna is the computer we use in cars, cell phones and all kinds of home appliances are indispensable components, It is an important bridge connecting all parts, It is widely used,at present, China is the world’s largest antenna manufacturing base, FPC antenna is a kind of antenna,Mostly for mobile applications.     What is FPC? It is a PCB antenna made of soft materials, The phone can be used for simple circuit links, This is what we know as a row line, It can also be used as a complex circuit, With the gradual increase of mobile application functions, The use of FPC antennas will also increase, The types of FPC antennas are also varied, LED display with PCB connection requires FPC antenna, The 0.3mm products have been put into use in large quantities, But as technology continues to evolve, Is gradually moving in the direction of 0.4.     In the future, the number of FPC pins will be reduced, The implementation is placed in the LED frame along with other components of the phone, The development of board–to–board connectors is also evolving,The height of the pins and the spacing of the pins will become smaller, Although now it is still mainly 0.4mm, But it is moving in the direction of 0.35, It’s going to get smaller and smaller, I/O connector as a mobile phone in and out of an important channel, Volume reduction is an inevitable trend, In the meantime, visual effect and waterproof function also are the trend that will develop in the future, As a kind of FPC antenna, battery antenna will be more miniaturized,Low contact impedance and improved connection reliability.

  • RF BMA connector
RF BMA connector Aug 07, 2017
In many applications, screw-on RF connections can sometimes appear stretched and even unusable: for example, panels, daughter cards, or inserts with multiple RF connection points.     In these cases, the spacing between the connectors must be set to be very small, so that the nut cannot be accommodated; or the card/combination sometimes cannot be operated due to the need to be inserted into the slot.     For these reasons, people have developed push-in connectors, also called blind-mate connectors. The common blind-mate connector in military, aerospace, satellite communications and radar fields is the Blind-mate A/BMA (Blind-mate A/BMA) connector developed in the 1980s.     BMA connector     In the initial period, the registered trademark used by the BMA connector was OSP, so it is often called OSP connector.     The advantage of the BMA connector is that even if there is a slight degree of misalignment, the mating can be easily achieved by pressing the plug into the socket with sufficient pressure, and then the internal mechanical mechanism ensures a firm electrical connection and correct alignment. Thanks to this high-precision alignment method, the operating frequency of the standard BMA connector is as high as 22/26.5 GHz, the voltage standing wave ratio is as low as 1.2:1, and the typical insertion loss is about 0.1dB.     In view of the practicality of BMA connectors, people have subsequently developed a variety of alienation styles suitable for different installation types, including BMA coaxial plug/jack connectors, BMA through-wall connectors, BMA panel mount connectors, BMA PCB connectors and screw-in sealed connectors. Generally, the housing and mounting parts of BMA connectors are made of stainless steel or passivated stainless steel, and sometimes gold-plated stainless steel is used. In addition, BMA connectors generally use gold-plated beryllium copper internal contacts and PTFE dielectric materials.     Because some BMA connectors have mechanical grooves or mechanical ridges, which help maintain the mating "snap" structure, if there is a sliding-in blind mating connector in the application environment, it will be disconnected due to external force. In the situation, the problem can be solved by using BMA connectors. Since the electrical connection in the BMA connector is achieved through 360-degree contact, it also has a certain degree of vibration resistance and impact resistance.     The construction quality and materials used in BMA coaxial connectors allow this type of connector to generally withstand thousands of mating cycles, which is superior to other mechanical retention mechanisms. For measurement test applications and automatic test applications, the BMA connector can be used as a high-reliability connection interface, which not only improves the connection and disconnection speed at the hardware level, but also achieves stronge...

  • The advantages and disadvantages of nickel plating and gold plating
The advantages and disadvantages of nickel plating and gold plating Jul 10, 2017
What is the advantage and disadvantages if nickle plating of rf connector? And how about the gold plating of rf coaxial connector? When post the pcb mount. Why the nickle plated is more convenient to solder the tin? There are many false solder in the nickle plating,But few in the gold plating, That’s why?     Answer 1: We know only the weld ability and conductivity of gold, its stability is the best among metals,It is widely used in PCB board. Nickel, good stability, but poor weld ability,But the temperature is better, It is rare to hear of nickel plating on the gold fingers of PCB boards.     Answer 2: Connector adaptor plating a single coating is very few, generally after nickel plating and then a layer of gold. Gold electroplates better conductivity and weld ability than nickel, but costs more. The cost of nickel is low, used in the ground coating on the substrate play a filling role, and subsequent coating capacity.     Answer 3: The electroplating physical properties are relatively stable, electrical conductivity is better, but the material is more expensive, general electroplating in the contact layer of the terminal.     Answer 4: The nickel itself electroplating is not good, generally will not be directly plated nickel for welding, is now the so-called solderable nickel, but it is a layer of flux after nickel plating.

  • The difference between waterproof connector and plastic connector
The difference between waterproof connector and plastic connector Jun 05, 2017
The structure of waterproof rf connector is generally divided into metal contact conductor and shell metal.     The different between metal and plastic (nylon TA66) shell :     Mechanical life: The mechanical life of waterproof rf connector refers to the number of times of plug and pull, and the industry standard is usually 500 to 1000 times. The contact resistance, insulation resistance and withstand voltage of the waterproof rf connector should not exceed the specified standard value when the mechanical life of the waterproof rf connector is reached. There is little difference between the metal waterproof rf connector and the plastic rf connector.      Behaviour of electricity: Rated voltage, rated current, contact impedance, insulation resistance, etc., according to the required standard value, this metal is the same as the plastic shell.     Enviromental parameter : The main environmental parameters are ambient temperature, humidity, rapid temperature change, atmospheric pressure and corrosion environment. In the use and storage of waterproof rf connectors, the environment in the process of transportation has a significant impact on its performance, so it is necessary to choose the corresponding metal shell according to the actual environmental conditions will be better than plastic.     Termination method: Termination method refers to the connection between the hardware contact and the wire and cable of the waterproof rf connector male and female coaxial connector. The metal as same as plastic shell, it is divided into solder, crimp, clamp, pierce and screw.     Comprehensive analysis shows that there is little difference between metal and nylon TA66 plastic shell except for shielding function of connector. The cost of plastic is lower than that of metal shell, and the structure is more reasonable.

  • How to reduce the wear of jack and pin in connector
How to reduce the wear of jack and pin in connector May 08, 2017
When the connector is connected, the pin will be expanded with a certain force, but it is easier to separate. Therefore, it is judged that the coupling force of the electronic connector is larger than the separation force, the interaction between the two forces is easy to cause the connector to wear out. If you want to reduce wear and tear, look at the following good ways:     1.Improve the strength of the gold plating layer on the contact surface which can effectively reduce friction.     2.the contact surface of the RF coaxial connector can be nickel plated and then gold plated, which is a little less frictional than gold plated directly on copper.     3.The thicker the nickel layer, the stronger the wear resistance of the gold plating layer.     4.The smoother the surface of the RF connector is, that is, the lower the roughness, so the friction is very small.     5.In the daily use of connectors, we should pay attention to the maintenance of electronic connectors to reduce human damage.
